I asked myself, 'Am I ready to write my first blog-post'?
'Am I Ready?' That's the question that keeps us away from just taking the plunge, trying something new, just diving in and finding out whether we are ready, whether we like it..whether that's our calling..
Probably we are conditioned from the very beginning to take no risks, play it safe, not to take the road less travelled..but when we are young and not afraid we dare to dream to be all that we are capable of; we want to fly, to try new things and to find what we really want to do in life...
Slowly, that fire burns less bright as we 'grow up' and look for safe and comfortable options..a regular kinda life..good work, good money, planned holidays, weekend parties, the works.
The 'comfort zone' is another big hurdle in our race against mediocrity.. it gives us a false sense of complacence and completeness..like we've done all we needed to and we can just sit back and enjoy our popcorn..slowly we give in to it and stop growing, stop learning, stop exploring...
Thank God for that small inner voice that never gives up..and thank God for friends..both urge us incessantly to rise up and be the person we are capable of being..
For some, finding a calling comes early and easy...for others like me it's a journey in itself..but as long as we are looking out, trying new things, learning every day..we're ALIVE!
